The brilliance of bottle glass
MOH Hardness:
Bottle glass has a MOH hardness of around 7, which is harder than silica sand or plate glass.
Splintering versus sphericity:
Given the properties of bottle glass, it is much easier to process it to a sub angular shape than plate glass. That sub angular shape makes it so useful in water filtration and sand blasting.
Long life:
It does not fracture easily and this makes it operational for longer.
